In July 2025 I finished my PhD in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Although my primary research interests are Congress and American political institutions, I also enjoy learning more about comparative politics and international relations. Before starting my PhD at Maryland in 2019, I spent three years working for an NGO in my home country, Germany. I hold a M.A. and B.A. in Political Science from the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, a public, research-oriented university in the city of Halle, Germany.

My wife Celine and I live with our dog Bernie in Takoma Park, Maryland. We also have a strong connection to the beautiful state of Maine.
